Gateway to World Markets
- Deep
Water Port Links Midwestern Growers to Pacific Rim Buyers |
 |
A joint venture
between the Port of Grays Harbor, Aberdeen, WA, AGP and the Puget
Sound & Pacific Railroad created a deep water port facility which is a
day closer to the markets of the Pacific Rim than any other West Coast
port. That cuts two days from the journey — and lets AGP ship their
products in half the time it takes them to ship from the Gulf of
Mexico. A steady flow of rail cars will transport agricultural
products from the Midwest to the West Coast, for connection with world
markets. (Article featured in Feed & Grain Magazine, Feb/Mar 2004,
